Nature Tots

Nature Tots is once a month, free program that is for pre-k age children. Parents will help their children explore a different topic each month. We try to provide a sensory activity (sometimes messy) then go on a short hike along the blue trail.

Nature Club

Nature Club is a free, once a month program that is for children ages 6 years and up. A new topic will be covered each month. Some months we will also hike.

Archery

Explore Archery

Several Explore Archery sessions are offered in the spring, fall and winter of each year. Sessions are 5o minutes, one day a week for 6 weeks. Students age 9-18 years may participate. This is a beginner class and all equipment is provided.

Valentine Archery

Valentines Archery is a couples archery class for adults. This class is offered every year in February. Couples are given a quick shooting lesson then play archery games to win prizes. No prior experience is required. All equipment is provided.

Birthday Parties

Nerf War Party: 1 hour Nerf War in the gym, 3 hours of voting precinct time- $250

Basketball Party: 3 hours in the gym and voting precinct time - $250

Inflatable Party: 3 hours in the gym and voting precinct (Inflatable Add-ons - $500 total for 1 inflatable, $750 for 2)

Homeschool Classes

Homeschool PE class is for students ages 6-12 years old. Several 6 week sessions are offered in the spring, fall and winter either at Jack Mattox Park or Poplar Springs Gym.

Homeschool Naturalist programs are offered at Elsie A. Holmes Nature Park once a month during the school year. They are taught by Kami Harris a local homeschool mom and certified teacher.

Homeschool Art Classes are offered several times during the school year either at Joseph McConnell Park or Poplar Springs Voting Precinct. The instructor is Carrie Churchwell. She is a local homeschool mom and certified teacher.

Summer Programs

Fun Fridays: A free craft and activities will be provided that are geared for school aged children. Younger children are welcome to participate with the parents help. Crafts will take between 15 - 45 minutes depending on your child. The program is held at Joseph T. McConnell Park. Plan to pack a lunch to enjoy the park after our activities! Pre-registration is required.

Let’s Cook Pizza: Participants will make their own personal pizza! They will make a placemat and play games while waiting for pizzas to cook. The program takes place at the Poplar Springs voting precinct. Students will also get to decorate a sugar cookie. Pre-registration is required.

Paint the Park: Participants will be given chalk paint and brushes to paint their own designs on the sidewalk/parking lot and under the pavilion at Jack Mattox Park. Pre-registration is required.
