We believe that youth sports provide players with so many benefits. One of the many benefits to youth sports is socialization and learning to be coachable. This is why we do not accept or facilitate PLAYER/COACH/TEAM requests. We hope to encourage players to continue to make new friends and get the opportunity to learn from new coaches.

Players that want to play up an age division should contact the office. This registration software will not allow it, but the office can manually move your player into the correct division.

**** IF YOU WANT TO COACH AND DID A BACKGROUND CHECK FOR THE FALL SEASON, YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE ANOTHER ONE. JUST MARK YES YOU WOULD LIKE TO COACH.

Softball FAQ’s

  • Weather permitting, there will be player evaluations on March 4th & 5th. Emails will be sent to parents closer to this date to inform you of when your player’s evaluation will be. During this evaluation, players should be prepared to participate in various softball drills. Player attendance at pre-season evaluations is highly encouraged to properly draft and roster as evenly matched teams as possible. Players that do not attend will be randomly assigned to a team by the recreation department.

Depending on the registration numbers, some age groups may not require evaluations.

  • You should hear from a coach by March 11th.

  • Weather permitting, practices can begin as soon as March 11th.

Practices are dependent on the coach’s availability and their preference.

  • Weather permitting, games will begin March 22nd. Games will not be played over Easter Break.

PLEASE NOTE: CCPRD softball teams may possibly play in the Scenic City Softball League. Teams will possibly travel to local communities to play other teams. More information will be provided once received.

  • The registration fee will cover a jersey and a visor. Players will need to buy pants, a belt and socks. Parents should wait to purchase these items until they have met with their coach.

Other items players should purchase: Cleats, glove, helmet, bat.

Academy Sports + Outdoors and Dicks’ Sporting Goods are sponsors of CCPRD. They have provided our participants with a discount coupon for CCPRD participants to use. That coupon code will be sent out prior to the start of the season.
